Since trying some of their slices a few years ago, all have been fans of Pitfire Artisan Pizza, so it was thrilling when Paul Hibler and company revealed that their eighth shop would be in my neighborhood.In Pasadena, there is no shortage of places to get pizza, but a female needs options, too.Pitfire delivers artfully handcrafted artisan gourmet pizzas in the valley. The Pitfire team believes in creating a delicious, warm experience:they use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients for our pizzas and hand-craft them within minutes of ordering to ensure that our customers will enjoy their pizza’s piping hot.

Pitfire creates “artisanal” versions of pizzas that are typically found on fast food menus, such as pepperoni pizza or buffalo chicken pizza. Their toppings of choice include seasonal, fresh and creative toppings including Gorgonzola, Creamy Balsamic Chicken, and Red Pepper.

Pitfire offers gluten-free crust (pizza dough is rolled out differently than typical pizza dough) and choices of vegan/vegetarian/halal ingredients. All pies are made in-house with only the freshest ingredients to guarantee that each customer’s pizza will arrive hot and ready to go.

Their pizzas are hand-crafted in the California style and are cooked at temperatures of 800 degrees or higher in a wood-burning oven. These unique temperatures ensure a quality pizza while creating a uniquely charred smoky taste to the crust.

Pitfire is one of few locations in the valley that specialize in wood-fired gourmet pizzas, which they call “Pitfire Artisan Pizza“. Pitfire Pizza in Scottsdale was one of the first in the United States to serve handcrafted artisan pizza at a fast pace.

Pitfire is located in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona and delivers local fresh products. The restaurant’s signature item is a California-style pizza crafted with locally milled flour and cooked at very high temperatures in a wood-burning oven.

The new Pitfire is bright and expansive, with community tables, high ceilings, and wide aisles (ideal for parents with strollers—like us! ), and is located in the shuttered Sizzler on Arroyo Parkway.A strikingly red Mugnaini oven served as the room’s focal point.

The Fall Farmers Market Plate ($10.85), which includes roasted mushrooms with herbed citrus bread crumbs, grilled rustic bread with ginger tomato jam and ricotta, roasted Brussels sprouts with salsa verde, and chile-roasted pumpkin with garlic oil, was the first item to be served.The ginger-flavored tomato jam on toast was unquestionably a jam.

Crushed tomato base, three cheese mix (mozzarella, provolone, feta) sun dried tomato, baby spinach, Roma tomato, pesto swirl after baking.

Spudnick

Olive oil base, sliced roasted potatoes, caramelized onion, gorgonzola & grilled chicken, finished with a dash of rosemary.

Pitfire Primo.signature pie. Roasted garlic base, fresh sliced mushrooms, chopped kalamata olives, mozzarella, fontina, goat cheese & parsley, topped with chopped fresh tomatoes after bake.

Spicy Salami Primo

Tomato sauce base, topped with our cheese blend and thinly sliced Italian spicy salami and a sprinkle of chili flakes. If you love our pepperoni, you’re sure to enjoy this pie as well.

Plain Jane

Seasoned tomato sauce topped with our mozzarella & provolone cheese blend finished with a sprinkling of oregano & sea salt.

Hawaii Five-Oh!

House made spicy Hawaiian BBQ sauce base, mozzarella, provolone, shredded chicken, pineapple and red onion. A Sprinkling of fresh coriander finishes this pie after baking.

Margherita

Pitfire’s own seasoned tomato sauce, topped with hand torn mozzarella, a drizzle of olive oil, a dash of parmesan and a handful of fresh basil after baking.

White Pie

Alfredo sauce base topped with a blend of mozzarella and provolone, dollops of ricotta, parmesan, and a pinch of oregano.

Hell’s Kitchen

Cheese pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, jalapenos & chili flakes…..spicy!

The Palm

Olive oil base, air-dried beef, a dash of rosemary, dates (yes dates!), and chunks of gorgonzola. A swirl of balsamic glaze after baking. A Dubai classic.

Stube Special

Pitfire’s tomato sauce, provolone & mozzarella cheese, Italian sausage, kalamata olives, pepperoni, house roasted red peppers & dash of parmesan after baking.

Bill’s Special

House-made Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, mozzarella and parsley over our seasoned tomato sauce.

Buffalo Chicken

Crushed Tomato base topped with provolone & gorgonzola cheese, jalapeno peppers, grilled chicken and finished with a drizzle of house-made spicy buffalo chicken wing sauce.

Royal Hawaiian

Perfectly ripe pineapple, thin sliced smoked turkey piled high on top of our provolone & mozzarella cheese blend. Aloha!

Bresaola & Rocket

Seasoned tomato sauce with mozzarella, baked then topped with deli-thin sliced Bresaola (air-dried beef) and piled high with fresh rocket & shaved parmesan.

Fresh Veggie

Mushrooms, green peppers, onions, olives, mozzarella and parsley over our seasoned tomato sauce, finished with chopped tomatoes after baking.

Five Star

Five of our star toppings come together for this pie….pepperoni, italian sausage, mushrooms, black olives and green peppers. A magical combo!

Truff Daddy

Olive oil & black truffle paste base, a generous handful of our pecorino/parmesan mix, sliced brown mushrooms & caramelized onions. A swirl of white truffle oil after bake finishes this pie. Served with a side of Black Truffle Cream.

Veggie Primo

Tomato sauce base, our cheese blend, and generous amounts of mushrooms, green & black olives, sundried tomato, artichoke hearts, & spinach sauteed with sliced garlic.
