Early Life

The early life of Bodhi Ranson Green is not very clear, and no sources have been able to confirm his date of birth. The Oregonian, an online publication, states that Bodhi was born on June 1, 1981, but this is unlikely as he was only 2 years old at the time the article was published. Mindy Green posted a family photo on Instagram in 2016 showing Bodhi and Mindy with their two children at the beach which shows Bodhi’s birthday as May 30, 1984 (just one month off from what has been previously published) but the caption did not mention his birthplace or where he lived at that time.

It is known that Bodhi was adopted by Ron and Sheila Green when he was about 3 months old after being born to teenage parents. It is unknown whether he spent much time with his birth parents.

On January 15, 2018, it was revealed on ABC’s “Fall Preview” special that Green will be a series regular for season 2 of “The Conners” and will play an adult version of Darlene Conner. In a later interview, Green explained that he would appear in flashbacks as one of the clones of Darlene (the character played by Heather Thomson) who mistakenly believes that she has been impregnated by her brother Pete (James Anderson).

Green graduated from the California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in theater studies and also received his master’s degree from UCLA. He is a member of Sigma Chi. Green also serves on the board of directors for the non-profit organization “Act on Success”, which provides free yearbooks to financially disadvantaged students in Southern California. He is inspired by his own life, as he was a victim of bullying growing up. The organization is helping to provide a sense of empowerment and confidence to youth through the educational resources that yearbooks can provide.

In August 2012, Ranson Green wrote an opinion piece for CNN about an incident he witnessed while on Broadway in New York City. Bodhi’s “Big Eyes” castmate, Sally Field, accidentally hit a woman with her elbow while exiting the stage door and Bodhi described how Ms. Field immediately stopped, turned around, and apologized to the woman. He said “this didn’t just show me the human side of Sally Field. It showed me the human side of all of us.” He went on to say, “it didn’t matter who she was or how successful she was; at that moment she was nothing more than a real human being with a big heart.” He also wishes more people would remember that celebrities are just people too, and they sometimes face difficult things like anyone else.
