What will the cast look like in Toy Story 4? In 1995’s “Toy Story,” Tom Hanks voiced the original Buzz Lightyear and starred as Tim Allen voiced Buzz Lightyear. With Evans voicing his fellow co-star. Fifteen years later, in 2012’s Toy Story 3. The original voices were gone except for Bruce WIllis’ voice of the top toy Woody. This year, it looks like it will be a Ryan Reynolds-led takeover with Tom Hanks voicing a new character called ‘Lightyear,’ and accompanying him is a reconfigured and necessary cast including Chris Evans, albeit both different voicing characters.

What Happened With Tim Allen?

It’s been years in the making, but after much speculation, reports and rumors, Toy Story 4 is finally happening. And with that comes a new set of questions about who will play the iconic characters.

Tom Hanks and Chris Evans recently sat down for an interview to discuss the casting process of Toy Story 4. Also the two had some pretty exciting things to say about what went into picking the cast. They both had a say in who ended up being picked!

“I was pretty adamant about wanting Annette [Zuniga] because I’d seen her do such wonderful work in From Up On Poppy Hill,” Hanks revealed. “So I lobbied hard for her.”

Evans echoed those sentiments, saying he wanted Zuniga for Andy because she “plays such real people onscreen.” He also said it was great to have choices like that when it came time to fill out the rest of the cast.

“There’s so much personality on every animation frame and even more in sound,” Evans noted. “And you want all those voices to feeling like they come from one place.”

Tom Hanks and Chris Evans discuss how they cast the Toy Story New Buzz Lightyear. The two starred in the first Toy Story movie and helped to create one of Pixar’s most beloved characters. For Toy Story 4, they reunited to bring back Woody, Buzz, and Andy Garrity as a new toy named Forky. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hanks explained how he and Chris Evans came up with the idea to cast Forky:

We went out clubbing one night after doing Toy Story 4, and somebody had a fork on their key chain, so I said, ‘That would be a great name for him!’ And then Chris Evans said, ‘Forky! Yeah, that’s it!’ So that was it; Forky was our Buzz Lightyear.

Tom Hanks and Chris Evans spoke about the casting of Toy Story 4 at a recent event. Hanks revealed that the only person he wanted for the role of Buzz Lightyear was his longtime friend, Tim Allen. The Hollywood Reporter reported that when they met with Allen, all five men just started talking, and it was clear that Buzz would be a tough act to follow. Next, Evans talked about how he came to play the role of Andy in Toy Story 3. They initially approached Mike Myers, but he wasn’t interested. After some back and forth, directors Lee Unkrich and Josh Cooley happened upon Evans’ audition tape and were blown away. They knew he would be perfect for the part because of his natural comedic abilities as well as his ability to connect with kids on an emotional level.

In an interview with IGN, Tom Hanks and Chris Evans discussed the casting of Toy Story 4. The duo was asked how their respective (and now former) roles in Captain America: Civil War have changed how they view auditioning for future roles.

Chris Evans revealed that he almost turned down his role as Steve Rogers. Due to scheduling conflicts with Captain America: Civil War. However, after meeting with Tom Hanks, who played Woody in Toy Story. He realized that he could easily approach the character differently by taking a comical approach. This is why he opted to take on the role.

Hanks echoed similar sentiments regarding his performance as Woody in Toy Story 2. When speaking with IGN, he said that since the film was so well-received, “The whole process of getting cast wasn’t all that bad.” He added that auditioning for Woody “wasn’t like going through a bunch of readings or anything.” This is why he felt confident about choosing him for the sequel.

Ultimately, both actors believe it’s essential to have good chemistry with whoever you’re working with on set. That was certainly true for them when it came to playing their iconic characters in Toy Story 4 – their relationship went beyond simply acting opposite and gave life to Woody and Buzz.

Was There A Price To Pay?
