What changes await the Mirage map in CS2?

by Anjali Anjali

Just recently, Valve released its first CS2 closed beta update, which touched on one of the gamers’ favorite maps – Mirage. Valve has introduced many new features that will have a significant impact on the gaming experience. In addition, the developers have added a redesigned Mirage to the game.

Betting on Counter Strike is very popular with bettors and at pinup-login.com, you can bet on the biggest esports competitions with high odds. In the meantime, esports fans are waiting for the release of CS2, we will talk about the planned changes on the Mirage map. The players reacted positively to the updates, however, as it turned out, Valve is preparing another interesting change to the iconic map.

What will Mirage look like in CS2?

Mirage is one of the most popular maps in Counter-Strike and is moving into the CS2 testbed with a major update. Now players in this location can try their hand at new conditions. Earlier it was reported that there will be no changes in the layout of the map and updates will only affect textures and lighting. In general, the map will become brighter, but the positions and angles should have remained the same. The map was not supposed to be very different from the well-known from CS:GO, with only one caveat that the developer planned to make it prettier.

However, there are more and more rumors that the American company Valve has changed its mind and plans to bring big changes that esports players and fans of the game have been waiting for for many years. Valve is reportedly planning to change the look of the map, including the TV room as well as the seat in front of it. The difference should be pretty significant. The loading screen will be changed on the Mirage map, the kitchen of the apartments will turn green, A-applications will now shine like in the CS2 trailer.

On the Mirage map, there are places with ventilation grills that could be broken in classic CS:GO (one in the ladder room, the other when entering the window from the side of the Counter Terrorist spawn). CS players know that there are gaps between the metal sheets, when fired at (or when a grenade is thrown), the grate always breaks. On the new Mirage, the vents in the staircase room can now be shot through without breaking them. The same applies to grenades. This change will likely have a big impact on the game. Imagine the situation that you made a frag with KT through the bars and at the same time it remained intact. The enemy teammates will not have the opportunity to silently approach you in the back through the windows, which gives a rather large advantage.

What maps will be in the new CS2?

CS2 will be the biggest technical leap in the history of the series, providing users with many new features and content for years to come. A free upgrade to the world famous CS:GO will be released in the summer of 2023.

The new CS2 will reportedly feature the following maps:

overpass;

dust 2;

Nuke;

Baggage;

Inferno;

Mirage;

train;

ancient;

Italy;

Anubis;

Vertigo.

At the same time, some maps were created from scratch, and some have undergone only cosmetic changes.

Other changes in CS2

In CS2, there will also be no circular menu, which is already familiar to everyone, as in CS:GO. It will be replaced with a regular list, and it will be customizable. Recall that earlier rifles and pistols were presented from the categories, and in the new CS2 one more category will be added, which will allow you to choose SMGs and shotguns. The updated menu should be more intuitive for users, and will also bring one important advantage – the ability to adjust the slots in the inventory. Thus, you will no longer need to choose the M4A4 and M4A1-S options at the beginning of the match, you can take both weapons with you, as there will be as many as 5 slots for rifles.

One of the critical issues repeatedly pointed out by players testing the CS2 beta was overly inaccurate movement. Against the background of the general indignation of users, it seems that the American company tried to bring back the old movements from CS:GO.

Another long-awaited update was the ability to return the full cost of weapons that were bought by mistake. Everyone had a situation when he mistakenly bought the wrong weapon that was needed and was forced to leave it for a new round. In Counter Strike 2, you can correct your own mistake. This will save the economy and play more efficiently. There is also another important change at the procurement stage. Now users will not be able to see what teammates are buying.
