Lordstown Motors begins shipping its Foxconn-made EV pickup trucks

In a highly publicized announcement from the Lordstown Motors Factory, the company unveiled that its all-electric Foxconn-made EV pickup trucks will be ready for shipping. The electric pickup trucks are in response to an ever-increasing demand for sustainability and environmentally friendly vehicles.

The company aims to release them exclusively through Amazon Prime, with a two month trial period as part of their customer service guarantee. Lordstown’s purpose is to provide a technologically advanced and environmentally friendly automobile that’s economical and not only affordable, but fully functional.

The Foxconn-made trucks are equipped with all the modern amenities, including a touchscreen LCD, speakers, stereo functionality and 360-degree cameras. The company claims that their trucks offer an excellent driving experience, with it being made of the highest quality materials such as aluminum, steel and steel for strength. The Future Electric Pickup Truck was originally unveiled at the 2016 Beijing Beijing Auto Show.

”We are excited, and we want to thank just about everyone who has helped us get to where we are today. Thank you for your support and please stay tuned, you’ll see our truck coming soon,” said CEO Jay Lord.

The company’s vehicles will be powered by a total of 16 Tesla Motors Model 3 battery packs, with ten of them being used as the drive unit and six more as storage units. The trucks will have a range of over 300 miles with a charge able to take between 6-8 hours. Top speed is expected to be around 100 miles per hour and produce a power of 320 HP and 520 foot-pounds of torque.

The company also claims that it will be able to sustain an average of 200 miles per day with regular use, making it one of the most eco-friendly vehicles on the market. It’s expected that the Foxconn-made trucks will retail in the price range of $40,000 – $45,000.
