PM Kisan Status Samman Nidhi Yojana 2022

by priyanka singh

“PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana” or PM Kisan Status is the scheme launched by the Central Government on 24 February 2019 in order to help farmers who are struggling with their farms. Through the PM Kisan scheme, farmers are given Rs.6000/- every year and it’s given to them 3 times a year in the form of installments of Rs.2000/- (one for each installment). It is a state government scheme for which farmers have to register online while sitting at home. So far, a large number of farmers have benefited from this scheme since its launch.

What is PM Kisan Status?

The system of distributing the PM Kisan Status installments has been quite the same since the inception of the scheme. Every year, in the month of March, an installment is given to the farmers who had used more than 50 percent of their agricultural land for farming. In case the total agricultural land used by farmers is less than 50 percent, then installment will be given from 1st April to 31st June.

As a government, they are trying to bring about a New India. Their initiatives and programs often require an institutional delivery mechanism. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in addition to the Council for Cultural Affairs, has taken the responsibility of guiding this process by avoiding bureaucratic hurdles for all creative projects and programs launched by the government.

The PMO’s Kisan Development Programme (‘Kisan’) is one of these programs that has been designed to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers.

As the PM Kisan Status notification is released on the internet portal, the farmer can check the status of his PM Kisan app installment.

The government of India had been experimenting with crop insurance schemes since 1955 when it founded the Crop Insurance Scheme (CIS). The goal of the CIS was to provide crop insurance coverage to farmers, who were vulnerable to natural hazards like floods, droughts, and cyclones. However, the scheme failed to yield desired results despite providing coverage to nearly 35% of farmers between 1955 and 2010.
