Story of the movie ‘Drishyam’
Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrinal Jadhav and Rajit Kapoor starrer ‘Drishyam’ is the story of a family whose head Vijay Salgaonkar becomes a successful businessman on his own. He is an orphan. She adopted an orphan girl found on the way before marriage, she also has another daughter. Vijay, a cable businessman, is fond of watching movies while sitting in his office. It is from these films that he gets the courage to fight injustice and when an accident happens in his house, he creates a complete illusion to save his family through these films.
What happened on 2nd October?
According to the story of the film ‘Drishyam’, Vijay Salgaonkar allows his elder daughter to go on a school trip that involves many other school children. Here a young man makes a video of his daughter while taking a bath and later tries to blackmail her. He asks Vijay’s daughter to meet him at the outhouse behind his house on the night of 2 October. The daughter tells the whole thing to her mother and together they request this young man to delete this video. Due to this, the young man tries to put his hand on the honor of the mother by leaving the daughter and the daughter hits her head with an iron rod to save her mother. The young man dies. Together they bury his dead body in a pit made for compost manure in the premises of the house. All this the younger daughter sees.
Youth’s identity revealed
When Vijay Salgaonkar reaches home in the morning, he comes to know about the whole accident. Telling his family to stay at home, he sets out to dispose of the young man’s car. While taking the car, it is spotted by a constable of the local police station. The old rift is going on due to the victory of this inspector. When Vijay returns home, he learns that the young man who tried to put his daughter and his wife’s honour, is the son of Goa’s Inspector General of Police Meera Deshmukh. To save his family, Vijay creates a complete sequence.
October 2 and October 3
Vijay Salgaonkar goes to Panjim with his family and creates at least three such evidences that the entire family was in Panjim from October 2 to October 3. He goes to a restaurant the whole family eats pav bhaji there. This restaurant owner testifies before the police that these people had come to his restaurant. Talking about opening his own theatre, Vijay watches the film while sitting in the projector form of the theatre. The Projection Assistant also testifies before the police. He tells in detail about the discourse to his acquaintances. This discourse was given by Swami Chinmayanand, he himself confirms it.
And then the dice turns…
When the police could not achieve anything even after all the interrogation and brutal beating of the Salgaokar family. So the inspector, who has a tussle with Vijay, ruthlessly treats Vijay’s younger daughter at the behest of his IG. The girl breaks down and tells the police the place where her mother and sister hid the body. Police reaches the spot with heavy arrangements. Reporters of television channels also reach there. Meera digs in front of her and a corpse is also recovered from there, but this corpse is of a dog….!
Where did the dead body of Meera’s son go?
After being thrashed in front of the media, Meera Deshmukh leaves the spot along with her husband. After the matter of beating of the girl came to the fore, the mob thrashes the inspector badly in public. The whole matter becomes so big that Meera Deshmukh has to resign. The police officers investigating the case are suspended and at the end of the film it is shown that Meera Deshmukh and her husband meet Vijay to apologize. And, begs him to tell them where is their son’s body? Where did Vijay hide the corpse, it is known to the audience at the end of the film… and the second part of the film ‘Drishyam’ i.e. ‘Drishyam 2’ is based on finding this corpse..!
