Tony Romo under fire for ‘creepy’ Gisele Bündchen comment

by Sonal Shukla

Tom Brady’s 600th touchdown pass from Tony Romo could be exchanged for a date with his model wife.

After making a remark about Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele Bündchen, during the “NFL on CBS” broadcast, Cowboys legend Tony Romo is receiving criticism.

Brady’s 600th touchdown pass, which wide receiver Mike Evans unintentionally gave to a fan on Sunday, had to be found by the Buccaneers.

Romo pretended to narrate the exchange on the broadcast as a Tampa Bay staff member bargained with the fan.

Gisele on a date. I’m down for a date with Gisele,” the fan, played by Romo, said.

Tom will complete it, OK. Romo continued, pretending to be the Bucs official, “You got it once.

The comment offended some people, and they criticized Romo on social media.

Tom Brady asserted that a BUCS fan “lost all of his leverage” after returning the 600th touchdown kick: “HE SHOULD HAVE HOLD IT,”

Tony Romo‘s suggestion that Brady exchange a date with his wife for his 600th touchdown pass is just strange and creepy, in my opinion. Dude is a decent broadcaster, but he can be really awkward at times,” one user tweeted.

“I didn’t find Romo’s comment amusing. It lacked flavor. But that’s just me,” a different supporter remarked.

More supporters kept criticizing Romo and CBS for airing the commentary.

Why is it necessary for us to hear @tonyromo’s wishful thinking about exchanging a football for “a day with Giselle”? One Twitter user questioned, “What does Mr. Romo presume would happen with Gisele on the day she was traded like property for a football?”

The 600th touchdown ball was indeed recovered by Brady, who also made sure the fan was fairly compensated for forfeiting it.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers gave the fan a signed jersey and helmet from Brady, an autographed Mike Evans jersey and the WR’s game cleats, a $1,000 team store credit, and two passes for the remainder of the 2021 season and the following season. According to the quarterback on the “Monday Night Football” Manningcast, Brady further sweetened the deal by giving the fan a bitcoin worth approximately $63,000.

Tom Brady’s agreement with Tony Romo

Following the mutually agreed-upon trade of Tom Brady’s 600th touchdown ball for another game ball and a signed jersey by a Bucs fan, Romo used his imagination to speculate as to what he might have accepted in place of the ball.

“Gisele on a date. I’m down for a date with Gisele,” the fan, played by Romo, said. Tom will handle it, OK. Romo continued, pretending to be the Bucs official, “You got it once.

Twitter erupted in response to Romo’s contentious remark about Tom Brady’s wife, which is undoubtedly far from being accepted. Since the incident, the Buccaneers players have given the fan many gifts. Brady gave him an autographed jersey and helmet, Mike Evans gave him game cleats and an autographed jersey, the team gave him a $1000 store credit, two season tickets for the rest of 2021, and next season, Tom Brady gave him a bitcoin, which is worth about $63,000, and Rob Gronkowski gave him over $30,000.

Dealing with the Bucs organization must have been a pleasure for the fan, as it is obvious that he did well in his negotiations. Tony Romo didn’t get the GOAT himself to catch a TD, though, so his deal fell short. It would have been a trending clip for sure if that ever happened.

Shalise Manza Young, a Yahoo columnist, stated that every woman has agency and is not her significant other’s chattel, regardless of her net worth or level of fame.

The implication that Brady owns his wife and would offer her up in such a way was “all so unsightly and crude.”

Brady and Bundchen haven’t responded to the remark yet.
