About SSC

SSC was created on November 4, 1975, when the Government of India established the Subordinate Services Commission. The name was changed to Staff Selection Commission in September 1977. The Staff Selection Commission, consisting of a Chairman, two Members, and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations, is one of the primary bodies under the Department of Personnel. and Training (DOPT).
