Benefits Of Amma Vodi Scheme
There are many benefits of the AP Amma Vodi scheme, the first and foremost benefit of this scheme is the stipend available to the school-going children. The incentive will help poor families go to school and help them cover some of their expenses. This will prove to be a great way to encourage families to send their children to school. As we all know that the percentage of children going to school in rural areas is very less, this initiative will help in increasing the percentage to a great extent.
- Last year around 42 lakh beneficiaries got the benefit of the Amma Vodi scheme and this year the number has increased to 44.48 lakh.
- The Andhra Pradesh government has also focused on improving the quality of mid-day meals which will ultimately improve the health of the students. Due to these schemes, many students have moved from private schools to government schools.
- The government has also started English medium in government schools so that poor citizen can also take advantage of it.
Amma Vodi Eligibility Criteria
Those beneficiaries who satisfy the “Amma Vodi Yojana” can apply for the scheme:
- According to the rules, the mother and the guardian should be from the BPL family.
- The family must have a white ration card.
- They should have a valid Aadhar card or Voter ID.
- The students of the beneficiary should be studying in class 1 to 12 in government or private aided and private unaided schools/ junior colleges including residential schools/colleges of the state from the academic year 2020-21 onwards.
- Mothers or guardians should ensure that their children have 75% attendance in the school.
- Parents and children must be citizens of Andhra Pradesh.
- If the child stops studies in the middle of the academic year session then he will not be able to avail the benefit of the scheme.
- State or central government employees are not eligible for this scheme.
